Ingredients

6 cups (1440ml) whole milk (or skim, 1%, or 2%)

2 cups (480ml) heavy cream

½ cup (100g) granulated sugar

8 oz (226g) semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

¼ cup (21g) unsweetened cocoa powder (natural or Dutch-process)

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Toppings: marshmallows, whipped cream, candy canes, salted caramel, etc.
Instructions

Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring halfway through.

After 2 hours, stir again and continue to cook for an additional 15–20 minutes.
