Description

Indulge in the ultimate creamy and rich hot chocolate made effortlessly in your slow cooker. Perfect for cozy gatherings or chilly evenings.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups (1440ml) whole milk (or skim, 1%, or 2%)

  • 2 cups (480ml) heavy cream

  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar

  • 8 oz (226g) semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

  • ¼ cup (21g) unsweetened cocoa powder (natural or Dutch-process)

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

  • Toppings: marshmallows, whipped cream, candy canes, salted caramel, etc.


Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.

  • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring halfway through.

  • After 2 hours, stir again and continue to cook for an additional 15–20 minutes.

 

  • Ladle into mugs and top with your choice of marshmallows, whipped cream, or other toppings.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute dairy milk and cream with plant-based alternatives like oat or almond milk, and use dairy-free chocolate.

Ensure to stir occasionally to prevent ingredients from separating.

For a frothy texture, whisk the hot chocolate before serving.
