Ingredients
-
60 grams (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
-
240 ml (1 cup) sweetened condensed milk
-
90 grams (1/2 cup) brown sugar
-
150 grams (1 cup) white chocolate, broken into pieces
-
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
-
300 grams (2 cups) good quality dark or milk chocolate, for coating
-
Crushed peanuts or hazelnuts, optional, for garnish
Instructions
-
Microwave Method: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, sweetened condensed milk, and brown sugar. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
-
Stir in white chocolate pieces until melted and smooth.
-
Mix in sea salt.
-
Pour the mixture into a lined baking dish and refrigerate for 3–4 hours, or until firm.
-
Once firm, scoop the mixture into small balls and roll them between your hands to create smooth shapes.
-
Melt the dark or milk chocolate using a microwave or double boiler.
-
Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage, and place back onto parchment paper.
-
Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Optionally, sprinkle with additional sea salt or crushed nuts before serving.
Notes
For a smoother finish, lightly coat your hands with powdered sugar when rolling the truffles.
These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For added texture and flavor, consider rolling the truffles in crushed nuts or coconut flakes before the chocolate coating sets.
