Ingredients
-
1 fresh pineapple – peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch rings
-
3 tablespoons melted butter
-
¼ teaspoon honey
-
1 dash hot pepper sauce
-
Salt, to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, hot pepper sauce, and a pinch of salt.
-
Brush each pineapple ring with the butter mixture on both sides.
-
Place the pineapple rings on the grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the fruit is slightly caramelized.
-
Remove from the grill and serve warm, either on their own or as a topping for burgers, grilled meats, or desserts like ice cream.
Notes
For a smoky-sweet flavor, sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on the pineapple before grilling.
This recipe also works great with pineapple spears or chunks skewered for kabobs.
Can be made in a grill pan indoors if an outdoor grill isn’t available.
A squeeze of lime over the top adds a fresh, zesty finish.
