Description

A comforting and hearty dish combining cheddar pierogies, smoky kielbasa, and a creamy cheese sauce, all slow-cooked to perfection in a crockpot. This easy-to-make casserole is perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners


Ingredients

  • 3 boxes Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies (16 oz each)

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  • In a 4-6 quart crockpot, combine 3 cups of chicken broth, frozen pierogies, sliced kielbasa, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6 hours.

  • About 30 minutes before serving, warm the cream cheese with the remaining 1 cup of chicken broth until smooth.

  • Pour the cream cheese mixture into the crockpot and stir to combine.

  • Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

 

  • Cover and cook on low for an additional 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For added flavor, consider garnishing with sliced green onions before serving

This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad and crusty bread.

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Avoid freezing, as the dairy may change in texture upon reheating
