Ingredients
-
3 packages frozen cheddar pierogies

4 cups chicken broth, divided
-
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
-
1 lb kielbasa, sliced into ½-inch rounds
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Prepare the cheese sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of chicken broth and the cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
-
Layer in the Crockpot: Spray the Crockpot with nonstick spray. Add a layer of frozen pierogies, then half the kielbasa, and pour some of the cheese sauce over the top. Repeat until all pierogies and kielbasa are used.
-
Add remaining broth: Pour the remaining 2 cups of chicken broth evenly over the top.
-
Top with cheese: Sprinkle the top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
-
Slow cook: Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours or on High for 2–3 hours, until heated through and bubbly.
-
Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm with a side salad or steamed veggies.
Notes
Feel free to use turkey kielbasa or another sausage variety for a lighter version.
You can add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra depth of flavor.
For a crispier topping, transfer to a baking dish after cooking and broil for 2–3 minutes.
Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
