Description

This hearty Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Sausage is the ultimate comfort food—rich, cheesy, and effortless to make. Layers of tender pierogies, smoky kielbasa, and a creamy cheese sauce simmer together in the slow cooker, creating a no-fuss dinner perfect for busy weeknights or cold-weather gatherings. Just set it, forget it, and enjoy every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 packages frozen cheddar pierogies

  • 4 cups chicken broth, divided

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced into ½-inch rounds

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of chicken broth and the cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.

  2. Layer in the Crockpot: Spray the Crockpot with nonstick spray. Add a layer of frozen pierogies, then half the kielbasa, and pour some of the cheese sauce over the top. Repeat until all pierogies and kielbasa are used.

  3. Add remaining broth: Pour the remaining 2 cups of chicken broth evenly over the top.

  4. Top with cheese: Sprinkle the top with the shredded cheddar cheese.

  5. Slow cook: Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours or on High for 2–3 hours, until heated through and bubbly.

  6. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm with a side salad or steamed veggies.

Notes

Feel free to use turkey kielbasa or another sausage variety for a lighter version.

You can add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra depth of flavor.

For a crispier topping, transfer to a baking dish after cooking and broil for 2–3 minutes.

Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
