Description

Ingredients

  • 8 small, thick slices of sturdy bread (e.g., sourdough)

  • 8 square slices of cheddar cheese

  • 5 oz (150 g) cream cheese

  • 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional for extra crispy crust)

  • Butter, as needed for grilling


Instructions

  1. Spread cream cheese evenly on one side of each bread slice.

  2. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the cream cheese layer.

  3. Optional: Spread mayonnaise on the outside of bread slices for extra crispiness.

  4. Assemble sandwiches by placing cheddar slices on four bread slices (cream cheese side up), then top with remaining bread slices (cream cheese side down).

  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Melt butter to coat the pan.

  6. Grill sandwiches for about 3–4 minutes per side—or until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted—adding more butter if needed.

Notes
