Description

A moist and flavorful cake that combines the richness of cream cheese with a light, fluffy texture. Perfect for any occasion, this cake is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan.

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

  • Add the vegetable oil and granulated sugar to the cream cheese, and beat until well combined.

  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

 

  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding 1 cup of chopped nuts, 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, or 1 cup of fresh or frozen berries to the batter before baking.

This cake can be enjoyed plain or topped with a glaze or frosting of your choice.
