Description
This Chopped BLT is a bold twist on the classic bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich! Juicy diced bacon, fresh veggies, and creamy mayo are chopped and tossed together, then piled high on toasted sub rolls for the ultimate handheld meal—griddled to perfection and full of flavor.
Ingredients
-
1.5 lbs thick-cut bacon (such as Wright Brand)
-
½ head of lettuce, thinly sliced
-
2–3 Roma tomatoes, diced
-
¼ cup mayonnaise (such as Duke’s)
-
1–2 tsp Blackstone Essential Blend Seasoning (or your favorite seasoning blend)
-
4 sub rolls
-
Butter, for toasting rolls
Instructions
-
Cook the bacon: Cook thick-cut bacon on a griddle or in a skillet until crisp. Let cool slightly, then cut into small cubes.
-
Prep the vegetables: Thinly slice the lettuce and dice the tomatoes.
-
Make the BLT mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise. Mix well. Add diced bacon and toss to combine thoroughly.
-
Toast the rolls: Spread a little butter on the cut sides of the sub rolls. Toast on the griddle, cut side down, until golden.
-
Season the rolls: Sprinkle the toasted rolls with Blackstone Essential Blend Seasoning.
-
Assemble: Divide the BLT mixture into four equal portions. Add one portion to each toasted roll. Use a spatula to press and lift the roll, ensuring it gathers all the filling.
-
Serve immediately and enjoy warm!
Notes
Add avocado slices, a fried egg, or shredded cheese to take this sandwich to the next level.
Don’t over-mix—the filling should remain chunky for best texture.
You can substitute brioche or ciabatta rolls if desired.
