A decadent grilled sandwich that brings together juicy chicken thighs, creamy Gruyère, and rich garlic-buttered bread—perfectly crisped to gooey perfection. Every bite is a flavor explosion!
Ingredients
-
4 slices sandwich bread
-
200 g butter, softened
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Olive oil (for cooking chicken)
-
4 chicken thighs, pounded thin
-
2 tbsp cream cheese
-
1 cup Gruyère, grated
Instructions
-
Make garlic butter: Mix softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.
-
Prep bread: Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice; set aside.
-
Cook chicken: Drizzle chicken with olive oil, and season with salt/pepper. Cook in a skillet or on a griddle until done.
-
Assemble sandwiches: Spread cream cheese on unbuttered side of bread. Top with grated Gruyère, cooked chicken, and more Gruyère. Close sandwiches, buttered-side up.
-
Grill: On low heat, cook sandwiches butter-side down in a skillet with a lid, until golden and cheese starts to melt (~3–4 minutes). Flip and grill the other side until crisp.
-
Cut and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated Gruyère for better melt and flavor.
You can substitute chicken breast or use leftover rotisserie chicken
Add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the cream cheese layer for a tangy twist.
Cooked sandwiches can be wrapped and refrigerated; reheat in a skillet to restore crispiness.
