Description

These classic Rice Krispies Treats are a nostalgic favorite, combining gooey marshmallows with crispy rice cereal for a sweet, chewy, and satisfying snack.


Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (170g; 12 Tbsp) unsalted butter

  • 2 bags (10 oz each) mini marshmallows (total 566g; approximately 11 heaping cups)

  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • 9 cups (270g) crispy rice cereal


Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

  • Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.

  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.

  • Add the crispy rice cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until well coated.

  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Press down gently with a spatula to evenly distribute.

 

  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra gooey treats, use 8 cups of cereal instead of 9.

Add-ins like chocolate chips, peanut butter, or sprinkles can be mixed in before pressing into the pan.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days
